Christ is King!
John 11:51-52
Just a quick blog this morning to remind you, brothers, that our Lord and Savior rules and reigns from heaven today. He is all-powerful. He died for our sins. God raised Jesus from the dead and seated Him at the right hand of the Majesty on high. He is the blessed and only Sovereign, the King of kings and Lord of lords. He must reign until He has put all His enemies under His feet. Jesus shall rule and reign forever (Ephesians 1:20-21; Hebrews 1:3; Hebrews 10:12; 1 Peter 3:22; Colossians 3:1; Matthew 28:18; Revelation 1:5; 1 Timothy 6:15; Revelation 19:16; 1 Corinthians 15:25; Revelation 11:15).
You see, Jesus died not just for the nation of Israel, whom He dearly loved. He died for all people (1 Timothy 2:5-6; John 3:16; 1 Timothy 4:10). He died, "...not only for that nation, but to bring together and unite all children of God scattered around the world" (John 11:52).
God has decreed that His people, those who believe in the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, will inherit eternal life (John 3:16; John 3:36; 1 John 5:11-13).
God sees all those who rage against Him, for many reject Christ our King. Expect that, brothers, the way of this blessed Christian life is not easy street. Each of us must pick up our cross daily and follow Jesus. It is a blessed life of sacrifice and service, yet one of unshakeable victory in Jesus.
Just as Isaiah prophesied to King Hezekiah when they faced insurmountable odds with 185,000 Assyrian troops surrounding Jerusalem, we can trust in the unfailing love, power, and message of the LORD of Heaven's Armies (2 Kings 19:29-37). No evil or obstacle is too great to be overcome and defeated by the passionate commitment of Christ our King.
We will see God’s glory if we believe in Jesus (John 11:40). Trust Him today. Reject false gods and any claims rejecting the Messiah. Yet be patient with people, brothers, faith often grows like a mustard seed, small at first but becoming a great tree (Matthew 13:31-32). Yes, many will reject the Messiah for now, but help them. Gently lead them to understand that God loves them deeply, desires a real relationship with them, and calls them to join the one true church through faith in Christ.
Love all people and look upon them with the very love that God has for them (2 Corinthians 5:16). Keep believing! Keep trusting Jesus. Take a step of faith today. God is good. He will be with us - nay, He goes before us. Amen.
