Leadership - Responsibility and Unity

 Leadership: Responsibility and Unity

The final chapters of Judges (19–21) reveal the power of repentance, unity in Christ, and the necessity of being morally repulsed by evil. These chapters call us to take individual responsibility while, as the Body of Christ, maintaining corporate unity. Notice how, at the end of Judges, the tribes unite to confront the evil within the tribe of Benjamin (Judges 20). God calls us to integrity and obedience, but we must be willing to respond to God's call to action.

Someone must lead the charge. It is an honor to guide men into battle, for we are engaged in a spiritual war (Ephesians 6:12). Jesus, the Lion of Judah, stands at the forefront, His sword drawn alongside His warriors. There is a time for battle, a time when God commands, “Go, root out and destroy evil” (Judges 20:28). May we have the courage to answer His call with boldness and faith.

God continually sends us champions. Samson was not the last strongman, David was not the last warrior, Churchill was not the last lion, and Charlie Kirk was not the last prophet or evangelist. Our ultimate Champion, Jesus Christ, died on the Cross of Calvary to pay the price for our sins, once for all, never requiring a repeat. Jesus is God. He proved it through His Holy Spirit-empowered resurrection, His ascension to authority in Heaven, and His commissioning of the Church. Every day, God strengthens and guides us through His Spirit.

Jesus promised to return, and He will, to judge all people, separating those who believe and follow Him in obedience from those who trust in false gods, worldly pursuits, wealth, or selfish ambition. The stakes are real and eternal. The harvest is as ripe as fall fruit on the vine and as sobering as a sledgehammer on stone.

As we mourned Charlie Kirk’s passing these past weeks and celebrated his life at yesterday’s memorial service, we were reminded of the urgency of following Jesus (John 14:6). For mature Christians, this is a call to grow deeper in Christ, to study His Word, especially books like John and James, which reveal His love, truth, and call to holy living, and to reject evil, false teachers, cultish religion, sin, and empty pursuits.

Let’s choose God every day. Find His true Church and serve Him faithfully within it. Fight evil with courage. Pursue unity, for Christ’s Church is a body, not a cult or a political tool for the privileged few. Unity requires patience, grace, and, as many speakers emphasized at the memorial yesterday, putting on the full armor of God daily (Ephesians 6:10-18). Each of us has a God-given gift - some teach, some lead, some are prophets, calling the Body back to God’s way when we drift. Never underestimate the pull of the world, but rather, humbly accept the word God has planted in your hearts, for it has the power to save your souls (James 1:21)

Let’s fight for unity, good governance, honest shepherding by those entrusted with leadership, justice, and the mission to seek the lost, support our brothers and sisters in Christ, and generously care for those God loves. All day long, let’s follow God Almighty, the only One who gives us new hearts and true freedom.

Thank You, Lord Jesus, for all You are doing and for creatively growing Your Church in this time of revival. Amen

We watched the Charlie Kirk Memorial yesterday together after Church.  I'm super thankful for the revival breaking out across America.
