Leadership - Strong & Courageous

 Leadership - Strong and Courageous

August is an excellent month for new beginnings.  Whether you are starting a new leadership position, heading off to college in a new state, or preparing for trial, be encouraged that God is with you.  “Let us think of ways to motivate one another to acts of love and good works.  And let us not neglect our meeting together, as some people do, but encourage one another, especially now that the day of his return is drawing near” (Hebrews 10:25).

Make it a priority to encourage and motivate others today.  Be a strong and courageous leader.  Yes, the future is indeed bright, as Jesus Christ’s return draws near and He is building His magnificent people across all nations.  And believe it or not, we get to be a part of that wonderful prized possession of God, His people.

Revival starts with personal responsibility.  Satan hopes and toils so that God’s people will give up.  We shall not.  As we press on, God builds our character as He builds His Kingdom.  For His Kingdom shall never cease, and it shall grow in amazing splendor.

God’s word reminds us not to be afraid.  God is with us, and as we are faithful to Him, He will never fail us or abandon us.  Wherever you step today (in Lynchburg, Beijing, Calgary, or Caracas), you are on ground created and owned by God, and God is right there with you.  It may look like new ground, tough and dangerous terrain, but in fact, God has surveyed it, reconnoitered, if you will, and He makes no mistakes.  He promises that you are just the person the Body needs to be where you are today to conquer that ground for Christ.  Lead well. Serve well.

Yes, new jobs can be tough; you may have big shoes to fill or be in an industry facing many challenges.  Press on.  Be encouraged that with God, you will, in fact, prevail. God’s message to Joshua, following Moses’ impossible shoes to fill, was to be single-mindedly obedient to God’s commandments.  Us too!  We will be successful in everything we do if we are faithful to Christ and confident that He is building and that revival is here now, for it is.  Be optimistic, for we, like Joshua, are guided and directed by our Holy God.

At the end of Deuteronomy, we have a physical return to the land of Abraham and an instruction by Moses for the people to spiritually return to God, both then and shockingly and ashamedly when they would be exiled for their rebellion against God (Deuteronomy 30:1-5).  God delights in righteousness; He always has and always will.  We have a significant advantage.  We have fellowship with believers in Christ, and we have the Spirit of Christ in us.  Lead well today! Be strong, bold, and courageous. Take a risk for Christ as you put love into action.

In this summer of preparation as we embark on new challenges and exciting adventures in the fall, remember that we have but one brief life to live.  In that time, we shall not build empires for ourselves, but we shall build well for God, loving Him obediently with our heart, soul, strength, and mind.  God will make us successful in all we do.

God will do His part.  There is no doubt about that.  Our part is to obey His voice - His instructions written on our hearts.

Lord Jesus, thank you so much for this day.  May we be faithful in it.  May we be day and night Christians praying the ‘Our Father’ in the day, night, and in between with what we say and do.

Amen.
