Leadership - Ask for An Answer

 Leadership: Ask for an Answer

I’m asking God to speak to me through Scripture about how I should live today, how our family should function, and where He can have me best serve. I love the stories of old and the characters of the Bible; those stories help me to seek God more. I yearn to know His will. Through Scripture, God speaks. Yet, we also see in Scripture that God communicates through dreams, visions, angels, and His people (Acts 10). Here’s my simple suggestion for the Christian leader looking to break free from a rut and grow: if you’re perplexed, ask God, trust God, and put your faith into action.

God raises up godly leaders from His people, equipping them for the tasks of their generation through His power working in and through them. Often, it’s His way to use the weak to shame the powerful. Almighty God’s creativity knows no bounds—He can craft a masterpiece with a pencil or a paintbrush.

I’m encouraged lately, seeing God raising up young men and women.  It's amazing how God builds. Young people are hungry for an authentic church. They’re sick and tired of celebrity pastors, money-driven hucksters, and shallow entertainment. The consequences of weak leadership in the church ripple far, affecting homes, businesses, schools, and justice systems. Yet, the Good News shines bright: God is always faithful. “In every nation, He accepts those who fear Him and do what is right” (Acts 10:35).

What an exciting time to be alive and part of what God is doing worldwide—it’s truly miraculous! When God moves, the earth trembles, clouds pour rain, and mountains quake. He is raising up leaders who believe in Him, whose sins are forgiven through the name of Jesus, and who are making disciples, true ambassadors for Christ.

Do not fear the powers of this world or the minions used by demons through their positions, armies, or pedigrees. Blessed are those who are courageous, like Jael and Deborah. They will be remembered and honored by God’s people and by Almighty God. The wicked will be defeated, deceived by their pursuit of treasure and power, not realizing they’ve already been judged, found wanting, and utterly humbled. May all who love God rise like the sun in all its glory.

In Judges, Israel hit a low point—oppressed, starved, and abased under the Midianites’ cruelty. But the root cause was their sin; they did evil in the Lord’s sight. When they cried out to the Lord for help, God first sent a prophet to remind them of His deliverance from Egypt and to declare their guilt in worshiping the Amorites’ gods.

God uses unlikely vessels. He chose Gideon to display His power, creativity, justice, miraculous love, faithfulness, and provision. Gideon had something rare in a land plagued by idolatry, famine, and fear: a mustard seed of faith in God. Though perplexed, Gideon asked God for answers and then acted on his faith.

Gideon, laboring in the winepress against the oppression of the wicked Midianites, saw himself and his clan as weak. But God saw godly character, resourcefulness, and plucky bravery ready to be revealed, tested, and unleashed against evil.

There is tremendous power in a simple step of humble obedience. Like Peter and Cornelius (Acts 10), or Gideon and those who helped him tear down the idols of old, put faith into action. Too old to change? I doubt it. Remember, Abram was 75 when God called him to embrace great change (Genesis 12). He obeyed through faith. Scripture shows us a timeless leadership principle: there is no growth without change. Make a good change today. Take that first step of obedience. Monday morning.  Day one.  Deny yourself and follow God.

Lord Jesus, help me worship You alone today—not worldly position, man, or money. You alone, Jesus, you are my protector and Savior. Amen.
