Ephesians 3 - Accomplish Infinitely More

Independence Hall, Philadelphia, PA

Well, the good news is that God holds us to an incredibly high standard.  And He gives us all the resources that we need to accomplish infinitely more than we can imagine.  I’ve spent the week in Philadelphia where the founders of the USA trusted God and banded together their fortune, families, and future.  God's Kingdom is advancing.  This generation, like all generations, must accomplish for God what He wills us to do - infinitely more than we could plan or accomplish on our own.

There will of course come a time when God judges the nations (Psalm 82:8).  Let us praise God for all He is doing in this generation and for all He has done through all generations.

In our generation, it is time for courageous men and women of God to stand up for goodness and righteousness.  It is more than time for humble honest people to rescue the poor and the helpless and to deliver those in need from the grasp of evil people (Psalm 82:4).  It is time for you and me to make a good decision.  A choice between a good reputation and great riches.  I pray that the church be held in high esteem - from the only perspective that matters, that of the Most High.

We see in this chapter Paul's heart for Jesus and for the church.  May we imitate such pure motives and prayers.

You see, God has a plan.  He's a planner.  A Strategic Planner.  And His plans always succeed.  We hear in Ephesians that we have endless treasures available to us as believers in the Most High.  That is very good news.  God's plan is that any person who believes and trusts in Christ Jesus will be a child of God and share equally in His riches.

And God has a purpose.  His plan's purpose is to use the church to display His wisdom in its rich variety to all the unseen rulers and authorities in the heavenly places.  God's eternal plan was carried out and is carried out, through Jesus Christ or Lord.

True humility means knowing how fragile and susceptible to sin we are; we are easily deceived.  We fear God because we know everything we have and hold dear is at His pleasure.

Are we imitating our Maker?  Are we planning well and do we have a daily purpose and a focus on staying on God's path?  There is indeed a right path (Proverbs 22:6).  Are we on it?  Get on it and never leave it.

God's people have promised eternal blessings because we belong to Christ Jesus (3:6).  In this life we have the privilege of serving God and spreading the Good News.  We are free men and women and we must use our freedom wisely.  How you and I use our rich variety of gifts and abilities today is part of God's purpose part of His mysterious eternal plan.

Listen.  Work hard.  Speak well.  Create.  Imagine.  Act.  And make it a priority, like our forefathers did, to meet together weekly, motivate and encourage each other, fellowship, and worship our King.

Let's man up.  Let's ensure that our families and organizations are on the right path and that we have a good plan.  For we know that the LORD ruins the plans of the treacherous (Proverbs 22:12).

Have you experienced the love of Christ?  If so then you will be made complete with all the fullness of life and power that comes from God (3:19).  Achieve infinitely more than you can imagine through Christ!  Jesus is building His home in your heart.  Make sure you trust Him and give Him a clear title to your heart and to your soul.

Lord Jesus, please lead and guide your people today.  I love you, Amen.
