2 Corinthians 1:12-14 - Sincerity - the Mark of the Christian

I’m reminded this morning of the need to give thanks to God.  Let’s give thanks for all God has done for us and for all He is doing.  For our relationships, health, the doors of opportunity for service and growth, and, most of all, for being our merciful, loving Father and source of all joy.  Lord Jesus, thank you.

It is the mark of the mature Christian man, like our brothers in Christ Paul and Timothy, that we can say with confidence and a clear conscience that we have lived with God-given holiness, honesty, and sincerity in all our dealings.  Not some of our dealings.  All of our dealings.  When we write, "Yours sincerely," let's mean it.

Lord Jesus, we know that people will know us by our love.  Our love for you and for others.  May we also be known for our honesty and sincerity in all our dealings - before you and before everyone.

May our letters be straightforward with nothing written between the lines and nothing people can’t understand.  May this be the desire of every ambassador for Christ.  May it be how we write and follow our agreements.  May it be the mark of every organization that bears the name of Christ.

I am thankful and proud of every Saint that stands for truth.  May we be faithful ambassadors of Christ, instruments of God’s justice, and straightforward and faithful messengers of our gracious King.  And may we not do evil or assist in it.  Amen.

Colton Wilder - our youngest grandson.
