1 Corinthians 15 - Remain in Christ

Today is a day to work enthusiastically for God. Let's remember God's promises today.  He loves you completely.  And gave His life for you and for me.  Everything we do for God is useful for His good purposes.

We all need a good reminder.  We get that in this wonderful summary chapter of the Gospel.  We must be unified in the Good News of Jesus Christ.  We must all preach and believe that same message.

And we must keep believing.  The Bible teaches that you must hear the Good News and continue to believe to be saved (15:2 and John 8:31, 2 Cor. 13:5, 1 John 2:24, 2 John 9, Colossians 1:23, Hebrews 2:1, 1 Timothy 1:19, and Jude 1:12).  Be very leery if you hear prosperity preachers saying all you need is a ticket to ride, once you have that you can do or believe whatever you, please.  It is essential to hold fast to your trust in our Savior, to endure.

Just as the Scriptures said, Christ died for our sins.  He was buried.  And he was raised from the dead on the third day.

Jesus was seen by His apostles.  And He continues to work through those of us who believe in Him by His grace.  Here’s the truth: Christ has been raised from the dead.  Our faith in Christ is powerful.  Life-giving.  Wold changing.  We are no longer guilty of our sins.  He took the penalty for us.  Thank you, Jesus!

Our hope in Christ is for the world to come.  It is for our resurrected bodies - our eternity with God.  There will be a great harvest of believers in Christ.

Jesus will return (15:24).  He will destroy every ruler and authority and power.  Only Christ must reign.  All things come under the authority of Jesus Christ.

May the Lord God, God Almighty, be utterly supreme over everything everywhere.  Lord Jesus, help and guide us today to be strong and immovable.  Revive us.

There is much value in what we do in this life.  Eternal value.  There is value in fighting the “wild beasts” that oppose the Good News.  And many are hostile to the Gospel.  And there is eternal value in living a disciplined, godly life.  We know it.  But let's live it out in confidence today.

Our earthly bodies are buried in brokenness, but they will be raised in gory.  They will be raised in strength.  We will have spiritual bodies.  We will receive immortal bodies.

Lord Jesus, our Savior, and God gives us victory over death and He is the one to give us new bodies.

Lord Jesus, Commander, King, please help us to be humbly confident as we trust your eternal victory.  Help me to be kind and loving today.  Let us work enthusiastically.  Let my family, friends, and I all be valuable and powerful for you Lord Jesus.  Let us be miracle workers, encouraging, comforting, and sharing the truth of your Good News.  May today be a day to overcome evil for good.  Amen.

Happy 30th-anniversary Kari-Lynn (June 26, 2023!  I love you!
